How do I remove a task or project safely?

Deletion is different from filtering work out of a view or changing its status. The project deletion confirmation explicitly warns that its tasks will also be deleted.

Before you start

You need authority for the intended removal. Project deletion is restricted to its owner or administrators. Review related work and preserve any information you still need before confirming.

What to do

  1. Open the exact task or project and check its identity, related work and whether changing its status would meet your actual need.
  2. If deletion is intended and permitted, use that record's delete action and read its confirmation. Pay particular attention to the wider task scope stated for project deletion.
  3. If subtasks or dependencies block project removal, review those relationships and make only the authorised unlinking changes before trying again.
  4. Confirm only the intended removal, then inspect the resulting project or task list. Clear filters if necessary to distinguish a hidden record from an accepted deletion.

What happens next

An accepted removal is reported by the application and the affected record disappears from its current list. Inspect the outcome rather than assuming that closing a confirmation proves success.

If something goes wrong

Do not assume that an undo or trash-recovery control is available. If access is refused or an outcome is uncertain, check the current record before repeating the request. Contact Yasa with the record reference and error when you need help determining the result or recovery options; do not remove unrelated work to bypass a restriction.
