How do I register game-server capacity and port allocations?

Game nodes describe the Wings machine, its advertised capacity and the allocations game servers may use. Registration and command access have separate controls.

Before you start

Use an authorised administrator identity and the intended prepared Wings machine. Confirm the location, hostname, connection scheme, capacity and ports with its owner.

What to do

  1. Open Game nodes and choose Add node. Enter its name and Wings hostname, select the location and supported connection scheme, and review the available memory and disk in MiB.
  2. Review the Wings API and game SFTP ports before saving. Reopen the node and use Edit node for a deliberate hostname, capacity or port change.
  3. Use Add ports for the intended node. Enter the IP on that machine, an optional public hostname or IP alias, and the intended comma-separated ports or ranges. Check allocations before creating a game server.
  4. Use Wings configuration only when configuring that exact machine. Treat the generated configuration as private connection material and transfer it through the approved secure installation process.
  5. If Commands or SFTP access is not connected, use Connect commands & SFTP. Verify the SSH host fingerprint and provide the authorised private connection details in the trusted form, then use Verify and connect.

What happens next

The saved game node, capacity and allocations can be inspected in Nexus. Command access is available only after its separate connection succeeds.

If something goes wrong

An added node does not prove Wings is running or reachable. Check the hostname, scheme, capacity, allocated IP/ports and connection result with the administrator. Do not publish private configuration or assume adding an allocation also changes every external network rule.
