How do I link a project to a Midas customer and set billing defaults?

Project billing connects permitted Hercules work to a Midas customer and billing defaults. Personal display preferences, shared customer information and project invoice settings have different scopes.

Before you start

You need permission to edit the project and access to the relevant connected Midas workspace. Creating or editing a shared customer requires its corresponding permission.

What to do

  1. Open the project's editor and the Customer and billing controls. Check the selected Midas workspace before choosing a customer.
  2. Select the intended existing customer, or use the offered customer creation or editing controls when authorised. Confirm the business identity, billing address and contact details; a customer edit affects the shared customer record.
  3. Review Use customer billing defaults and the project's currency and hourly rate. If changing a currency or rate, review the numeric amount explicitly rather than assuming a currency conversion.
  4. Choose inherited or explicit project invoice language and formatting settings as appropriate. These affect project invoices, not your personal display language.
  5. Save and wait for the complete project and customer or rate synchronisation result. Reopen the editor to check the accepted customer link and defaults.
  6. When work is ready for billing, use the separate Midas handoff preview and review its invoice draft before any approval or delivery action.

What happens next

The project retains its accepted customer connection and billing defaults. Saving this configuration does not itself issue, send or pay an invoice.

If something goes wrong

A missing or read-only workspace is an access issue, not permission to create a duplicate customer. A message can report that customer settings were saved while project synchronisation still needs a retry; use the same Retry save flow and inspect its outcome. If project creation is uncertain, check the list before creating again. Contact Yasa with the project and workspace references if the connection remains unavailable.
