Before you start
Use the intended mailbox, enough available quota and saved email that you are authorised to import. Keep the original files until the result has been checked.
What to do
- Open the destination mail folder and choose the available Import messages action from the mailbox controls.
- Select a supported saved message or mailbox file, such as EML or Mbox, following the format and size guidance shown by the upload form.
- Review the destination and submit the import once. Wait for the reported outcome and inspect the imported messages in that folder.
- If only part of an import succeeds, check what is already present before retrying the failed portion to avoid duplicate messages.
What happens next
Accepted messages are added to the selected mailbox folder. Importing messages does not transfer account settings, contact groups or the complete configuration of another mail service.
If something goes wrong
Unsupported formats, upload limits and mailbox quota can prevent import. Do not assume a ZIP produced by a different program is compatible merely because Webmail supports some compressed downloads. Keep failed files private and ask the mailbox administrator about a larger or unsupported migration.
