How do I import a bank statement and match a received payment?

Bank matching imports a CSV statement and records explicitly confirmed incoming payments against eligible invoices. It does not transfer money or create a live bank connection.

Before you start

Use the correct workspace, an authorised statement export and billing write permission. Check the real bank transaction and the intended invoice before recording a match.

What to do

  1. Open Bank matching. Prepare the displayed CSV format: id, date in YYYY-MM-DD format, amount, currency and reference; payer is optional. Use stable bank transaction IDs, distinguishing accounts where necessary.
  2. Select the CSV and use Import statement. Review the imported and duplicate counts and the resulting transaction list before importing again.
  3. For an incoming payment, compare its date, payer, reference, amount and currency with the eligible outstanding invoice. Review a suggested invoice rather than accepting it solely because it was suggested.
  4. Choose the intended invoice, use Record matched payment, and review the confirmation details before saving. Open the invoice afterward to inspect the recorded payment and remaining balance.
  5. If an existing match is wrong and you are authorised to correct it, use Undo match, provide the reason, and inspect the recorded reversal before matching that transaction again.

What happens next

An accepted match records a payment against the selected invoice. Undoing a match reverses that record and makes the statement transaction available for matching again; neither action moves bank funds.

If something goes wrong

An invoice may be unavailable because of its currency, outstanding balance or supported document version. Outgoing and zero-amount transactions are retained for reference rather than treated as incoming invoice payments. Inspect existing imports and matches before retrying. For unresolved problems, contact Yasa with the relevant references and error, keeping bank credentials and full statements out of public messages.
